Your reports on the repaving of Cornmarket Street in Oxford make one shudder. But it is not alone!
Not long ago, St Clement's Street was resurfaced, but is now collapsing into great depressions. All the county council does is to mark the depressions.
The street has a significant amount of traffic, especially buses. It is particularly busy in the evenings and nights when The High is open to through traffic. I have more than a passing interest, as I live in York Place, just off the street.
I often lie in bed and feel the whole house shaking, almost like an earthquake, from passing traffic.
Despite letters, and a visit from an officer (at short notice in the middle of the morning, when the problem is least), nothing is being done.
