Fisher Ath 1, Banbury Utd 2: Banbury United strengthened their hold on a play-off berth in the Dr Martens Eastern Division with this excellent victory away to rivals Fisher.
The visitors got of to a flying start and Wayne Blossom had a good chance to open the scoring when he got behind the Fisher defence, but his shot lacked power.
However, Chris Potter made no mistake shortly afterwards, putting Banbury ahead on two minutes.
Fisher might have levelled midway through the half, but they were denied by an excellent save from Banbury keeper Simon Tricker.
In first-half stoppage time, brilliant work by Blossom ended with him being brought down just inside the penalty area by Steve McKenzie.
The reliable Ady Fuller tucked away the resulting spot-kick past Alex Elliott in the Fisher goal.
Banbury were edgy at the start of the second period and Fisher took the initiative by pulling a goal back through Steve Aris on 48 minutes.
After that, the visitors side dug in and although Fisher threatened on the odd occasion, the Banbury defence held firm.
