Purton 1, Witney Utd 0: Witney United's promotion hopes were dealt a massive blow as they lost their unbeaten away record at Division 1 West leaders Purton on Saturday.
The match was always very tight, with both sides having plenty of possession, but Purton created the better of what few chances there were.
On the half hour, Witney had a seemingly good goal disallowed. A Jon Steedman free-kick was spilled by Luke Alford in the home goal, and Darren Teggart forced the ball past two defenders on the line - only to see a flag raised for offside!
Ten minutes later, Purton scored the all-important goal when Mitch Wyatt converted a cross at the near post.
Headington Am 3, Middle Barton 1: Headington dominated this encounter throughout and but for some excellent saves from Middle Barton's keeper, they would have won more convincingly.
In the 40th minute, left back Darren Wichall's superbly-struck free-kick from the edge of the box found the top corner, and within minutes, right back Jamie Murray made it 2-0 when he forced home from close range following a corner
Ben Baldwin netted with a volley five minutes into the second half to put Headington three up, but Middle Barton kept battling and were rewarded when Paul Churchill pulled a goal back with a spectacular 30-yard lob.
Cheltenham Saras 3, Clanfield 1: Without a game for two weeks, bottom-of-the-table Clanfield struggled on a poor pitch at Cheltenham which put good football at a premium.
The home side took the lead on 22 minutes following a corner and made it 2-0 four minutes later.
Clanfield came back into the game in the second half, but their hopes were dashed on the hour when a controversial penalty award saw the home side go three ahead.
Davie Hamill pulled a late goal back for the visitors, but despite further pressure, they could not find another way through and remain rooted to the foot of the table.
Bisley Sp 0, Letcombe 3: This Division 1 East match was in doubt right up to kick-off after the changing rooms and pitch at Bisley were damaged by vandals, but Letcombe showed no mercy as they recorded their seventh league win on the trot.
Playing excellent football, Letcombe's Davis Rees, Iain Whatley, Richard Claydon and Paul Roberts all went close, before the outstanding Mark Brind fired them in front from ten yards.
Brind then sent over a right-wing cross which was turned in by Claydon on the stroke of half-time.
The roles were reversed early in the second half, Claydon playing in Brind to shoot low into the far corner.
A Letcombe defence that has conceded only two goals in seven games never allowed Bisley a clear shot.
