Pub landlord Roy Lester grits his teeth as Laura Cummings waxes his leg for charity.
He was one of nine plucky men who endured the pain in order to raise money in memory of Jake Blake, who was born with severe brain damage.
Jake died at his Enstone home on December 29, two weeks before his first birthday.
The men, including Jake's father Martin Blake, 40, front right, along with relatives and friends of the family who wanted to do something to remember Jake, took part in the leg-waxing at The George pub, in Littlemore, Oxford, on Good Friday. Mr Blake also had his chest waxed.
Their efforts are thought to have raised at least £2,000 for Respite nursing for Oxfordshire's Sick Youngsters (Rosy), an organisation that raises money to boost the limited resources of the county's children's respite nursing team.
Jake's mother Rosalind Smith, 37, who is a cook at the pub, said Rosy and the respite nurses had proved a huge support.
She said: "Everyone at the pub helped out as well.
"They all got to know Jake. They all came to his funeral and said they wanted to do something in his memory."
