The most likely group of people looking for a seat to rest in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, are senior citizens.
Yet they are the least likely to be able to take advantage of them.
However, I have an idea how to make good use of seats specially designed to be so uncomfortable that people will not want to sit there for too long.
How about those who approved the design at such a disgusting cost to council taxpayers using these seats for their meetings?
Why not put a few sheets of metal around them (we have had to look at them for so long), then rent out, or better still, sell their plush office buildings and meeting rooms to recoup some of the costs they have committed less fortunate morsels to pay for. Roll on election time.
