National League 1: From the heights of the previous week's victory over second-placed Orrell, Henley slumped to the depths with a 38-10 defeat away to Bristol Shoguns on Sunday.
After a lacklustre start, Hawks found themselves 18 points down inside the first half-hour.
Henley's forwards took the game to the Shoguns in the second half, but after they scored their try through James Winterbottom, they let Bristol back into the game to score a further 13 points.
It was outside the scrum where the biggest gulf existed between the sides, as Russell Osman and Ali James had difficulty in holding their men in the tackle.
Bristol fly half Brett Davey landed four penalties and three conversions, while Barry Reeves kicked Hen- ley's additional points.
Henley now need four points from their final two games against Exeter (away) and Bedford (home) to be sure of avoiding the drop.
