North Berks League: Sutton Courtenay's Division 2 promotion hopes ended as they threw away a three-goal lead in a 3-3 draw with Saxton Rovers Res.

Strikes from Jimmy Mills, Mark Kucylo and Rob Newman had put Sutton seemingly in control with just 20 minutes left.

However, Saxton had other ideas, with Derek Palfrey netting a brace, before Routledge levelled in the last minute.

The result means Grove Rangers are promoted. Although Shrivenham Res can overhaul them, league rules do not allow reserve sides in the top division.

In Division 1, Kintbury Rangers moved within a point of the leaders Lambourn Sports with a 2-0 win over Faringdon Town, thanks to goals from Spencer Annetts and Lucas Masopust.

East Hendred twice battled back as they earned a point with a 2-2 draw against Blewbury.

Ben Sutton put Blewbury into the lead before Pat Allen equalised for Hendred. Neil Tonner restored Blewbury's advantage, but Stephen Madge levelled for Hendred.

Appleton kept their Division 3 promotion bid on track with a 7-1 win over Long Wittenham.

East Hendred Res did the same to Wootton & Dry Sandford, with Jason Pettis (2), Jason Fisher (2), Tyrone McGill (2) and Pat Rush on target for Hendred.

In Division 4, Didcot Casuals are on the verge of promotion in their first season back in the league after a 3-0 win at Blewbury Res.

Wayne Jacks, Tom Fisher and an own goal completed their tally.

Drayton Res fought back to beat Uffington United 3-1.

Kenny Hope (2) and Ross Tabor scored for Drayton.

Ardington & Lockinge Res clinched the Division 5 title and preserved their 100 per cent home record with 4-1 win over Hanney United Res, with goals from Luke Wilkins (2), Dave Curtis, and Gary Crame.

Jason Maynard netted for Hanney.

Nearest challengers Buckland Res beat Sutton Courtenay Res 6-1.

Nathan Potter (2), Stuart Chapman (2), Adrian Holder and Owen Hopgood netted for Buckland, before Danny Hill grabbed a late consolation.

Matt Searis smashed a hat-trick as Ardington & Lockinge reached the final of the Reading Evening Post Cup with a 5-1 thrashing of AFC Corinthians.
