The leaders of the city and county councils tell us that they are preparing the ground for an inquiry into the Cornmarket Street fiasco (Oxford Mail, April 8).
After being forced into it, they now say this is the right thing to do.
After all this time and waste, they tell us why the job was started in the first place (after being asked for this information dozens of times).
One question they do not mention is why cellars were discovered after being there for a century or more and why no one knew about the mains and cables.
What were the planners doing?
They also did not mention the granite seats at £240,000. All we ever get are lame excuses and no real answers.
