Oxford UCCE struggled to contain a powerful Notts batting line-up on the first day of their three-day match in The Parks yesterday.
Notts piled on the runs, declaring on 396-4. Australian David Hussey, younger brother of prolific former Northants captain Mike, top-scored with an unbeaten 107, while Notts captain Jason Gallian, an old Blue at Oxford, made 89.
