Yeading 1, Oxford City 0: Oxford City came away from the Warren empty-handed having made Ryman Division 1 North leaders Yeading work hard for all three points.
Sam ShepherdThere was little to enthuse over in the first half hour.
Yeading's OJ Campbell headed wide from a Bobby Behzadi cross, while City's Sam Shepherd wasted his quickly-taken free-kick when he shot straight into the keeper's arms.
The closest effort in the first half was a free- kick from the home side's Alex Stanley that scraped the outside of the woodwork.
With the strong wind making conditions difficult, Martin Brown proved City's saviour after the break when in quick succession he blocked two Behazadi goal attempts on the line.
Jack Smillie sent in a decent long-range effort for City and Campbell was not far off the mark with a header.
With the visitors feeling they had done enough to have earned a point, the leaders struck two minutes from time.
A corner from the left by Stanley saw Chris Boothe get in the decisive header past Steve Benbow and keep his side on course for the title.
Oxford City: Benbow, Cruse, Crosby, Antonowicz, Brown, Dark, Smillie, Shepherd, Ferreria, Harper (Prescott 83), Ballard. Subs not used: Lee, Simpson, Champleovier.
Referee: C Salt (Pulborough).
