Rayners Lane 1, Wantage Tn 4: Hellenic League Division 1 East champions-elect Wantage took their revenge with a comfortable win at Rayners Lane.

The Middlesex side were the last team to beat Wantage in November, but there was never any chance of a repeat as Town dominated from the off and passed the ball superbly.

Steve Tucker (twice), Lee Newport and Jamie Mills all went close, before Gavin Jones let fly to give Town the lead.

Two goals quickly followed as first Gary Swann blasted home Glyn Jones's corner and then Paul Day cleverly beat the offside trap.

The home side reduced the arrears 20 minutes from time, before Wantage wrapped it up when Swann again arrived at the far post to head home Glyn Jones's corner.

Eton Wick 0, Letcombe 0: Letcombe returned from Eton Wick with another point towards their bid for the runners-up spot.

They need five points from their four remaining games to be assured of second place.

Playing against the wind in the first half, Letcombe seldom threatened the Eton goal, and had keeper Stuart Game to thank for three excellent saves. When he was beaten, the inside of the far post came to their rescue.

The visitors had more of the play in the second half and the defence looked more assured, with Liam Breen excelling and Matt Goddard making one goal-saving tackle.

Witney Utd 3, Cirencester Utd 1: Witney kept alive their slim Division 1 West promotion hopes with a scrappy victory at Marriotts Stadium.

Played in a swirling wind and on a bumpy pitch, good football was at a premium, but Witney ground out the result that was needed.

Cirencester took the lead in the 34th minute when an inswinging free-kick was headed home by Reeves.

Within two minutes, Witney were level through Aaron Davies, who volleyed home brilliantly from 20 yards, and on the stroke of half-time, Ben Border cut inside and let fly to score from 30 yards.

Witney dominated for long periods after the break, wrapping up the points in the 80th minute when Lee Keyes broke free to score his 29th goal of the season.

Easington Sp 1, Ardley Utd 1: A bone-hard pitch and high winds failed to spoil a well-contested game between two well matched sides.

The visitors took the lead a minute before half-time, Paul Spittle finding Gary Lawton, who rounded the keeper to tap home.

Easington, who had spurned two good chances in the first half, came out the more determined side after the break.

They equalised with 15 minutes left when a fierce shot was parried by the Ardley keeper and Mark Griffin made no mistake from the rebound.

Winterbourne Utd 3, Quarry Nom 3: Quarry produced a superb second-half comeback to take a point after being 3-0 down at the interval.

A more determined Nomads side emerged for the second half fired up and Jones soon reduced the arrears.

Further goals from John McMahon and Darren Maisey completed the rally.

Shrivenham 4, Middle Barton 0: Middle Barton managed to hold Shrivenham to 0-0 at the break, but two goals early in the second half ended their resistence and they conceded two more.
