Abingdon Tn 1 Ware 2: Abingdon failed to make it three wins in a row in Ryman Division 2, going down to lowly Ware.
The game also saw manager Paul Berry, the former Oxford United player, sitting on the bench as an emergency substitute after some last-minute withdrawals.
The first half was scrappy, and Matt Cope in the visitors' goal was barely tested.
The visitors went close after ten minutes when Adam Furness ran clear, but could only fire his shot into the side netting.
But after 25 minutes, the visitors broke the deadlock
with a simple goal, the impressive Frendo slotting home following another break.
Abingdon came out playing better in the second half, and started to create a number of chances, Matty Whitehead firing over.
However, Ware extended their lead on 56 minutes as Frendo scored again after keeper Brain parried his initial shot.
Tom Butler brought a fine save from Cope after 75 minutes from an indirect free-kick, before Town's pressure eventually paid off after 78 minutes.
Butler again broke away, receiving a neat through ball from Johnson, and coolly lobbed Cope.
Abingdon pushed hard for an equaliser and Butler saw another shot well saved, and then Cope splendidly parried Whitehead's rasping drive from the edge of the box.
At the other end, Brain did well to save from Sam Rose in stoppage time, diving full-length to push the ball
wide.
Abingdon: Brain, Tompkin, Scanes, Clare, Davis, Johnson, Whitehead, Charles, L Beauchamp, Clarke, Butler.
