SIR - I was interested in your article, Museum maps Morris story (Oxford Mail, April 8).
It's not clear exactly which building from the original Morris factory in Cowley has been rebuilt at the Long Hanborough site, but I shall go along to see it this summer.
It is a great shame that the building could not have been kept on the original site, or at least close to it.
Referring to your latest paragraph, I must point out that the "Cowley plant that is still going today under BMW's ownership" is not that of Morris Motors, but that of the Pressed Steel Company which has its own interesting history.
The original Morris site on the west side of Hollow Way is now occupied by flats. The land to the east is a business park, where the only reminder of Morris Motors is an obelisk on a roundabout.
