Midlands Division 2 East: Banbury gave themselves hope for the the future when they ended a disappointing season with a 38-17 victory away to fellow relegation victims Nottingham Moderns.
Banbury took the lead through lock Richard Jeyes from a five-metre line-out, and added two more from centre Matt Goode and flanker Will Brooks, the latter following a 40-metre burst by Sean Bannister.
Pete Flemming's sidestep brought him Banbury's fourth try, and Goode's second conversion put them 24-3 ahead at half-time.
Turning to face the wind, Banbury kept the ball in hand, and Bannister set up a second try for Goode whose conversion made it 31-3.
Nottingham's well-organised line-out brought them two tries, but fittingly, the Bulls had the final say.
Goode - possibly playing his last league game for the club - created a tiny gap for full back Duncan Ferguson to dive over for the final try, which Goode converted.
