Thame A lifted the Stephen Reiss Cup for the sixth time, after a crushing 5-0 victory over Cowley Conservative Club A.

They showed their superiority from the start when David Feore (+50) beat Keith Pearce (+70) 150-128, making a 30 break in the process.

Paul Evans (+20) then edged out Dick Hashman (-20) 200-179 to put Thame into a 2-0 lead with an aggregate points advantage of 43 going into the final game.

Lee Richardson (-30) brushed aside Malcolm Grieveson (+110) to wrap things up, with breaks of 33 and 29, before closing out the match with a superb unfinished 78 to seal the trophy.

In league action, with only two more rounds left, the titles in both divisions are still up for grabs.

Witney and Thame A are now joint leaders of Division 1 with 41 points apiece, although Witney have a game in hand.

Thame joined Witney at the top with a 3-0 walkover against Headington Con A.

Oracle are snapping at the heels of the leading two, after a 3-0 walkover win over Cowley Con B.

Cowley Con A top Division 2 with 45 points, but have only one game left. The new favourites are New Club, who are second on 41, but have three games in hand.

Tomorrow sees the semi-finals of the Oxford Times Cup at Cowley Con Club, starting at 7.15pm. David Baker takes on Terry Chambers, while Lee Richardson plays Simon Aries.
