Staff and pub regulars helped a family raise more than £5,000 in memory of their daughter who was killed in a hit-and-run incident on her way home from school.
Jenny Koester died after she was struck by two vehicles on the A417 Wantage to Faringdon road on January 16, after getting off a bus. One of the vehicles failed to stop.
On April 24, family, friends and regulars from the Blowing Stone Inn at Kingston Lisle, near Wantage, where Jenny helped out at weekends, held an auction of sports memorabilia.
Among the lots was an England shirt signed by David Beckham.
The money is being donated to Faringdon Community College, where the 14-year-old was a pupil.
Jenny's father Glyn Koester said the evening was bitter-sweet. He said: "The fundraising was only done specifically for the art department because Jennifer was extremely fond of art -- it was her best subject.
"People have been extremely generous and supportive."
