Organisers of a popular transport event have had their wings clipped by councillors.
Turweston Airfield, near Banbury, has played host to the Vintage Aircraft Club for seven years.
Every year the club has organised 'fly-ins'. More than 1,000 people attended last year's event, which featured motorcycles and tractors as well as aircraft.
But organisers were left crestfallen after Aylesbury Vale District Council's development control committee turned down a planning application for an increase in the number of planes allowed to use the airfield on a Sunday.
David Owen, owner of Turweston Airfield, said: "The club days raise money for charity and help preserve part of our heritage."
The committee rejected the plans because two unauthorised fly-days had already taken place this year, in January and February.
Councillors felt the meetings would result in 'unreasonable disturbance for local residents and for those people using the area for recreational purposes'.
But the council said the show could still take place as long as Mr Owen kept to the agreed limits.
