Cockspur Cup: Andy Buckingham hit a superb century as Kidlington marked their debut in the competition with a resounding 171-run victory over Hungerford in the first round at Stratfield Brake.
Buckingham blasted 117, sharing a second-wicket stand of 211 with Sid Khan as The Oxford Times Cherwell League Division 1 side rattled up an impressive 286-4 from 45 overs.
In reply, Hungerford, from Southern Electric Premier League Division 3, were bowled out for 115 in the 40th over, with Kidlington captain Mark Strong taking 3-9.
Now Kidlington will be at home to Corsham, from the West of England Premier League, in the second round on Sunday, May 9.
Thame Town, shell-shocked by the sudden death of chairman John Fulkes, produced a performance he would have been proud of to record a six-wicket win at Hertford.
With skipper Rob Brooks back at the helm after missing last year with a broken leg sustained playing football, Thame restricted their Saracens Hertfordshire League opponents to 213-9.
Veteran seamer Steve Merry picked up 4-46, while Sammy Lachlan returned 2-28.
Manoj Parmar (80) and Chris Wynd (45no) power the Home Counties Premier League Division 2 West outfit home at 217-4 with 2.4 overs to spare.
Now Thame are away to Ardleigh Green, of Shepherd Neame Essex League Division 2, in the second round.
