The country's only charity-owned art gallery, in Woodstock, is holding an African Art exhibition to raise funds for children affected by HIV.
The Eritrean ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Negassi Sengal, was the guest of honour on Friday at a private viewing at the Iona House Gallery, High Street.
Many of the artists, including Woldu Aferwerki, also attended to see their work mounted for a six-week exhibition held in conjunction with the fairtrade organisation Tsabok.
The gallery is owned by the charity Scottish International Relief and provides funds for deprived communities in Africa .
Manager Katherine Newman said: "All our profits go to projects in Third World countries for children affected by HIV."
