I notice that the Thames Valley Chief Constable thinks that the man who opened a website for people to air their grievances against the police acted in an "irresponsible" manner (Oxford Mail, April 15).
Two years ago, my daughter was alone with three small children at night while her husband was working.
With no warning, a brick smashed through the window, bounced off the coffee table and landed in the chair where one of my granddaughters had been sitting only a moment before. This could have caused severe injuries. Terrified, my daughter immediately telephoned the police whose only response was to ask her to look outside to see if anyone was there.
As no-one was there, it was not deemed to be urgent. It took three more phone calls and a five-hour wait for an officer to come to the house.
That is what I consider to be "irresponsibility".
