Despite attempts by coach John Brodley to spread the net wide, Chinnor will provide 16 members of Oxfordshire's squad for their Tetley's Bitter County Championship match against Devon at Plymouth tomorrow (3pm).
When Oxon reached the County Shield final last season, the combination of Chinnor's forward strength and Oxford Harlequins' lively backs proved a potent mixture.
Unfortunately, this year's county dates clash with the stag weekend and wedding of Quins' popular fly half Chris Penney, who is soon to return to New Zealand.
Not one Quins man is available for Oxon, while Brodley's attempts to gain support from Henley and Banbury were only slightly more successful.
Brodley, who is also the Chinnor coach, had tried to get the services of Exeter Chiefs' full back Ben Thompson, who comes from Oxford, but Exeter University had a prior claim on him.
"We go with what we've got, and I fully expect to win," said Brodley, who admitted he knew nothing about the strength of the opposition.
"By having most of the players of one club, at least we should be more cohesive than a scratch side put together for the occasion," he said.
The winners and losers of this game will be away to the respective winners and losers of the Cornwall v Hertfordshire clash.
There's a unique double-header in Plymouth tomorrow as Devon entertain Oxfordshire in the semi-finals of the Tetley's National Under 20 Cup at 5pm.
This is the second successive year that Oxon have reached this stage.
