What a sad reflection on society that we have to put up posters warning youths of the consequences of lobbing bricks at buses in Oxford.
To the many law-abiding young people, the result of such lethal behaviour would be obvious.
But clearly we have a minority of young louts who are so thick they need to be taught a lesson.
Police and the bus companies are right to use every weapon available in the fight against the bus bashers on our estates.
One poster appeals for witnesses to come forward, while another issues a direct warning to the perpetrators - you and your family could lose your council home unless you mend your ways.
No doubt, when caught, they will churn one of the usual rash of excuses - boredom, nothing to do, broken home, bad upbringing. We've heard them all before.
No, there can be no excuse for attacking buses or anything else.
The message needs to be brought home loud and clear to these morons - throw a brick at a bus and you could be facing a murder charge.
