Parish councillors are more worried about traffic problems that could arise if a casino is opened than they are over the prospect of gambling.
A casino with 10 or 12 gaming tables could be established at the Oxfordshire Inn, at Heathfield, near Bletchingdon.
Owner Anthony Lavin has applied to Cherwell District Council for permission to create the casino in a function room at the inn, which is part of the Heathfield Golf and Country Club.
Parish councillors in Bletchingdon discussed the proposal and decided to write to the district council about the potential traffic problems.
Parish council vice-chairman John Day said: "Our main interest in the application is over traffic rather than the casino itself.
"We have been trying for some years to get improvements to the junction of an access road to Heathfield and the B4027 Bletchingdon to Islip road. The B4027 is a busy road, so we're concerned about the extra traffic the casino will generate."
The plan is expected to go before Cherwell's south area planning committee in June.
