Berinsfield's Robbie Wright chalked up his ninth win of the season at Droitwich, where he dished out a lesson to Lye's Sean Evans, who attempted to drag him into a war from the opening bell.

But the Oxfordshire 15-year-old proved too slick and nimble for his rival's brawling tactics, getting behind his jab to keep him at bay.

Evans could not cope with the accuracy and intensity of Wright, who romped to a comprehensive points win.

Earlier in the evening, Michael Rendell was outpointed by NABC finalist Adam Mytton from the host gym, despite appearing to have the edge in the last two rounds.

Elsewhere, Berinsfield 12-year-old Connor Brown avenged his previous defeat at the hands of Henry Rogers in the return bout at his home club in Cambridge.

He was the more precise of the pair in an absorbing battle between two pint-sized terriers.

And Richard Tyler, 11, made it a Berinsfield double at the Cambridge show with a convincing win over Andrew Watts, of the New Ashley gym, in Newmarket.

However, the club's excursion to Willenhall proved disappointing as both Berinsfield boxers emerged on the wrong side of highly controversial split decisions.

Mark Sadler missed out to Plymouth rival Greg Smith and 12-year-old Callum Andrews was left totally bemused when Ashley Evans of the host gym had his arm raised.
