Wantage Town booked their place in the final of the Hellenic League's Brian Wells Memorial Trophy with a 3-0 win over Ross Town on Saturday.

The Division 1 East champions took a two-goal first-half lead with strikes from Ross Tyler and Rich Claydon, and a late Jamie Mills effort wrapped it up.

They will face Letcombe next Saturday in the final after their neighbours saw off Purton 1-0.

The only goal came in the closing stages of the first period of extra time when Mark Rees was brought down inside the box. He picked himself up to sidefoot the penalty into the corner.

In Saturday's friendly action, Abingdon Town went down 4-2 at home to Bristol City Academy.

Former Oxford United star Joey Beauchamp scored both their goals, one an unstoppable shot from 25 yards.

Oxford City were outgunned 6-1 at home by Maidenhead United, who included former Oxford United striker Phil Gray in their side.

Chris Harper netted City's crumb of comfort.

Milton United defeated AFC Wallingford 5-1 with goals from Gary Pearce (2), Paul Davis, Ash Fell and Pete Culley (pen).

Didcot Town went down 2-0 at home to Banbury United, whose goals came from George Redknap and Howard Forinton in the 40th and 44th minutes.
