Two men involved in a violent fight outside an Abingdon nightclub have been jailed for nine months.
CCTV video footage showing Gavin Andrews and Richard Payne brawling outside Strattons nightclub on Sunday, April 25, was shown at Oxford Crown Court on Monday when the two and three others appeared for sentence on charges of affray.
Alison Griffiths, prosecuting, told the court that the fight had broken out at about 1.30am outside the club. Doormen and police had been called in to break up the fracas.
Passing sentence, Judge Peter Crawford, told Andrews, 23, of Geoffrey Barbour Road, Abingdon: "In the incident that took place that night you started as a victim and soon got to your feet and carried out a severe attack on your co-defendant Payne.
"The video shows you kicking him in the head, and I regard you as the more serious offender."
He revoked an earlier community service order, imposed on Payne, 20, of Steventon Road, Drayton, near Abingdon, in February this year for causing grievous bodily harm.
Judge Crawford also dealt with three other defendants involved in the fracas, imposing community punishment orders of 180 hours each on Jamie Collett, 18, of Sherwood Avenue, Abingdon, and Alan Tillier, 22, of Wilding Road, Wallingford.
They were also both ordered to attend a restorative justice programme.
A fifth man, Ian Oram, 19, of Lyford Close, Drayton, was ordered to serve a community rehabilitation order for two years. He was also told to attend a course of aggression replacement therapy.
