Banbury United boss Kevin Brock will be looking to ex-Yeovil and Birmingham City striker Howard Forinton to make an impact when they start their Southern League Premier Division season with a tough trip to Bath City.
He said the partnership between Forinton and last year's top-score George Redknap would be vital.
Brock said: "This league will be a good test of just where we are at. You need players with experience, and Howard will give us that."
Former Oxford United youngster Matt Brandish is set to make his debut for Banbury United as they kick off their Southern League Premier Division at Bath City.
The ex-youth and reserve midfielder, who has impressed in pre-season, slots into the side in place of the injured David Billington (knee).
Banbury have injury doubts over Chris Potter swollen knee) and Chris Jackson (ribs), though George Redknap should shake off an ankle injury.
Brock said: "We know this league is going to be very difficult, because we'll be playing against some really good sides.
"We should be okay because we have experience and that bit of quality." INS & OUTS IN: Howard Forinton (Stevenage), Jody McKay, Andy Wallbridge (both Didcot Tn), Matt Brandish (Oxford Utd).
OUT: Jon Corbett (ret'd).
