Brackley Town won't be there just to make up the numbers when they kick-off their Southern League Division 1 West campaign at home to Cinderford Town.
Boss Tim Fowler has been busy in the transfer market, bringing in the ex-Oxford United defensive duo of Mike Ford and Paul Powell, former Swansea youngster Jack King, ex-Conference player Ian King and defender Andy Williams from Thame.
Fowler said: "We realise it's going to be different from the Hellenic League, but we're not going for consolidation, we're looking to have a crack at the promotion positions.
"We have got to keep it tight at the back and focus on what we are good at. We have a very good attack."
All six new signings could make their debuts against Cinderford. INS & OUT IN: Paul Powell, Mike Ford (both Didcot Tn), Jack King, Ian King, Andy Williams (Thame Utd).
OUT: Paul Lamb, Jason Burnham, Kai Ridley (all Aylesbury Utd).
