Oxford City boss Andy Sinnott is setting his sights on a top half finish as they start their Southern League Division 1 West campaign with a trip to Bromsgrove.
He will be looking to partner Wayne Cort, the brother of Wolves striker Carl, with promising local youngster Mark Baker to get the goals.
"In terms of physical presence, Wayne has the ability to bring other players into a game.
"Mark is an exciting prospect. He's very strong and has good technique. He's also got a good eye for goal.
"He's looked good in pre-season and if he can keep that up I will be delighted."
Sinnott added that the signings of ex-Villa and Leicester midfielder Garry Parker and Jason Thomas from Abingdon could prove crucial.
Defender Matty Whitehead is back at City after a loan spell at Abingdon Town.
Sinnott said: "Matty has worked really hard in pre-season.
"He's getting back to playing like I know he can."
Sinnott's side will be without their Parker, who is away on holiday though they will parade ex-Harlow striker Cort and Thomas.
Their only doubt is winger Chris Harper who tweaked a hamstring.
City banished their thoughts of last Satuday's 6-1 drubbing by Maidenhead United, with a 2-2 draw at Buckingham Town, Jemaine Ferreira and Baker were on target.
"It did restore the faith, somewhat!" added Sinnott. INS AND OUTS IN: Wayne Cort (Harlow Tn), Garry Parker (Kidlington), Dave Tregurtha, Jason Thomas, Jon Steadman, Stuart Douglas (all (Abingdon Tn).
OUT: Sam Shepherd (Slough Tn), Julian Dark (ret'd).
