Swimming pool changing rooms at a Bicester sports centre are set to get a £65,000 facelift.
Cherwell District Council's executive gave the go ahead for work to start in September at Bicester and Ploughley Sports Centre, in Queens Avenue.
Lockers and cubicles will be replaced, the changing areas will be refurbished and decorated, and there will be maintenance work to the ventilation systems, shower facilities and drainage.
Council cabinet member for recreation Norman Bolster said: "The existing lockers are now over 20 years old. They're getting increasingly unreliable and costly to maintain, as spare parts are difficult to get hold of. This is also an opportunity to improve provision for disabled people at the centre."
He said the investment was not part of a major modernisation scheme at the council's four sports centres across the district.
Both pools will remain open during the work with alternative changing areas provided for users.
Chairman of the sports centre's management committee Debbie Pickford said: "This work will enhance customer service."
