A woman was hit on the back of the head with a stone thrown by a youth in Banbury.
The assault happened in the south car park of the Castle Quay shopping centre, at about 3pm on Tuesday, July 25.
A security guard at the shopping centre caught the youth and his friends but the victim left without giving her details.
Police are now appealing for the victim to come forward.
PC Leigh Kinch said: "This is a classic example of the type of anti-social behaviour that we are committed to combating.
"I would ask that this woman come forward so that we can proceed with this investigation in the appropriate manner."
The woman, or anyone with information regarding the assault, can contact PC Kinch at the Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
