Beat officers in Barton, Oxford, have continued their clampdown on youths misbehaving with a third anti- social behaviour order being issued against a youth.
Steven Charlett, 16, was issued with an Asbo which means he could be locked up for shouting abuse at residents. The conditions of the Asbo ban Charlett, who is just 4ft 11in tall, from "threatening, intimidating, abusing or swearing at residents or passers-by in Barton, Sandhills, Risinghurst and Headington".
The Asbo was issued by Oxford Youth Court on August 11, after Pc Will Wright applied for the order, which runs until August 10, 2006.
In July, Kieran Durrant, 16, and Ben Strong, 14, became the first youths in the city to receive Asbos, after they illegally rode mopeds and harassed residents in Barton.
In all three cases, the court made directions preventing the publication of the addresses, schools or photos of the youths.
Barton and Sandhills city councillor Mick McAndrews welcomed the use of Asbos, but he criticised the courts for not letting the youths be identified fully.
He said: "Not everyone knows who Steven Charlett is. If he breaches the conditions, how are people going to know?"
Police said another example of nuisance behaviour had been dealt with by writing letters to parents.
Youths were detained after climbing on the roofs of Ormerod School and Bayards School, off Waynflete Road, Barton.
