Abingdon's Eddie Pepperell finished runner-up in the boys' under 13 age group at the 2004 Golf Foundation Weetabix Age Group Championships at the Marriott Forest of Arden.
The Frilford Heath member - a former British under 12 champion - shot rounds of 69 and 70.
The four-handicapper was one of thousands of ten to 16-year-olds who entered the championships.
Past winners of the event include Lee Westwood and Justin Rose, who have gone on to become international stars.
Pepperell said: "I am thrilled to have come second. It's a great achievement, after winning the regional qualifiers and all the hours of practice I put in after school."
