Sir -- Headington Road and London Road at Headington, Oxford, between Gipsy Lane and Headington traffic lights, must be the most congested road in the country.
All day long, this road is gridlocked with traffic, and the main cause is the Headley Way and Headington traffic lights. The phasing for traffic is far too long, causing traffic to build up.
As for two bus stops opposite one another, it's mad. Everything comes to a standstill when there are five or six buses at both stops, including school buses. Headington traffic needs sorting out. All this traffic should not be going through a small place like Headington.
So come on, you so-called planners -- it won't go away, do something about it. As for making Headington roundabout a 'hamburger' one, forget it. A flyover is the only answer.
