TEENAGE substitute Craig Hambridge came to the rescue for Nelson as the holders beat Premier Division hosts Six Bells Kidlington 2-1 in the MOrrels of Oxford Sunday Leagu Cup second round, writes Geoff Bower.

Bells took the lead midway through the second half when Ryan Curtin crossed for Daniel Morris to power a header home.

But 16-year-old Hambridge then turned the game, firstly setting up Anaclet Odhiambo for the equaliser, and then providing Julian McCalmon with the chance to grab the winner from close range.

A much-depleted Rose Hill still proved too strong for Cowley OMH, running out 3-1 winners.

Justin Ford fired Rose Hill in front, before Michael Bateman struck a fine half-volley to put them two up.

Cowley pulled a goal back, but Hill clinched victory when regular goalkeeper Gavin Lovatt scored in a rare outfield appearance.

Wayne Blossom hit a four-timer as Highfield thrashed Stadhampton 10-1.

Paul Anderton and Vinny Byfield weighed in with a brace each, and Jason Bedford and Sam Donaldson also netted. Richard Winger notched Stadhampton's consolation.

Lee Keyes hit a hat-trick for Star Wanderers, who overcame a slow start at KEA Sunday to win 5-0.

John Crump, with a 25-yard volley on the half-hour, settled their nerves.

Keyes earned a penalty five minutes before the break for Star, and converted from the spot.

He added a third five minutes into the second period.

Ron Sutherland thumped home a header from a corner, and Keyes completed the scoring with Star's fifth following another solo run.

In Division 3, Cowley Social Club ran out 5-1 winners at Isis Tigers.

Ben Kibble gave Cowley the lead, but Isis battled back to level by the break.

However, Cowley took charge in the second half, and further goals from Kibble, Darren Barber, Richard Hall and Stuart Moir sealed the points.
