SIR - The Bullingdon Club (Oxford Mail, December 4) - a group of jaded, wealthy individuals who invade other people's property to wreak untold havoc and destruction, with little regard for the inhabitants, purely for their own amusement?

At least we now know where the inspiration for this Government's foreign policy has come from.

Of course, such things have been going on for centuries and should be regarded as one of the privileges of a private education, as well as one of its sole benefits.

The profound irony is that many of these civilised, highly intelligent and cultured individuals will go on to become the chairmen of multinational corporations, lawyers and even bishops.

Ah, the joys of traditional pastimes.

It was, of course, such things that made our nation great and the envy of the world. Apparently.
