A green-fingered Wantage resident has won a new competition to find the town's best kept allotment.
Barry Willington, of the Charlton Heights estate, Wantage, was presented with a shield after scooping victory in the contest.
The annual competition has been set up by Wantage Town Council to encourage allotment holders to take pride in their plots.
Mr Willington, who is retired and keeps his allotment on Larkhill as a hobby, said he was surprised but pleased with his win.
The town council has five allotment sites -- at Letcombe Fields, Grove Road, Naldertown, Larkhill and Stockham Park.
