BANBURY'S astonishing run of form in Midlands Division 3
South East continued with a sixth successive victory as they triumphed 16-13 at Rushden & Higham.
In an exciting game, the lead changed hands four times and the outcome was in doubt up to the final whistle.
Banbury looked to play expansive, driving rugby, but on a heavy pitch it wasn't easy and they soon fell behind to a try.
The visitors began to play more territorially and immediately got back into the match with a Tony Hurst penalty. A second Hurst penalty saw them go in 6-5 up at the break.
A try from hooker Rory Dymond put Banbury further ahead in the second half, but after Jono Court left the field with a shoulder injury, Rushden sensed an opportunity to steal the match.
A penalty, followed by an unconverted try, put them 13-11 in front with eight minutes left, but Banbury were not to be denied.
Dymond smashed through two tackles before popping a pass to replacement Steve Mascall and the 42-year-old joyfully dived over for the winning try.
