A students was robbed by a man who wrenched her bag from her shoulder.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery in Union Street, east Oxford, on Monday.
The student, who is in her mid-twenties, was walking near Tesco's at about 9.15pm when she was approached by a man who grabbed her bag.
He wrenched the bag from her shoulder causing its contents to spill on the floor.
The man picked up items that had fallen from the bag and ran off.
He is 6ft tall, white, of medium build and in his early twenties. It is believed he may have been with another man who challenged him about what he was doing.
The woman was left shaken and with a bruised shoulder.
