YOUNG angler Oliver Jones, from Kennington, has caught a perch to remember from his local stretch of the Thames, writes ANDY WEBBER.

The 12-year-old was fishing with his cousin Daniel Jordan, also 12, and his grandfather Nigel Taylor.

He caught two fabulous perch of 4.1.0 and 3.13.0, plus a bream weighing of 4.8.0.

All the fish were caught on the float and red worm and were netted by Nigel.

Daniel also had a nice perch weighing just over 2lb.

LEE Collings, from Wolverhampton, has been busy catching some big carp over at Linear's Guy's Lake, near Stanton Harcourt, including a new lake and fishery record 32lb ghost carp.

Fishing a swim about 70 yards out on the edge of some weed, he spodded out a pile of maggots and then fished maggot on the hook to catch the fish.

The tackle used were Greys 13ft 3.8 test curve rods, Technium reels loaded with 12lb GT line and 20lb Korda Hybrid hook length.

He also had carp of 24.0.0. and 14.2.0.
