Ramon Diaz says that he wants four of five new faces at Oxford United as soon as possible.
Diaz saw his side suffer a humiliating 2-0 defeat at home to basement boys Kidderminster at the Kassam Stadium yesterday afternoon - the first loss since he took charge of the team.
But it was not just the result that the Argentine was concerned about, but the performance of the U's who faded badly after a bright start.
Two defensive mistakes cost United dear, to hand Kidderminster the three points which sees them leapfrog Cambridge at the wrong end of the table.
"This team needs some quality in it, and quickly," Diaz said, speaking through a translator.
"We need a lot of new players here - I am not sure exactly how many, but maybe four of five now, and some more after that."
Diaz revealed that a Frenchman was training with the U's, but would not name any names, apart from to say that new players would come from both England and abroad.
"I would like to apologise to the fans who came, because we did not play well," he added.
"We did well for 25 minutes, and then physically we were second best.
"We need to work on a lot of areas, but especially defensively.
"We have a French player training with us at the moment, and players we want to bring in are from England, France and South America.
"We have to see what we can sort out with them."
When I asked what positions concerned him the most, he replied with a smile: "The defence and the midfield".
The loss of Tommy Mooney through suspension did not help United, but they were second best in most positions, something Diaz was not happy about.
"Of course, Mooney is a key player for us and very important for the side.
"We missed him today, but the good news is that he can play for us again now.
"But we need to start winning some matches now and try for the play-offs."
Kidderminster boss Stuart Watkiss was delighted his side moved off the basement.
"It will be nice for someone else to have that pressure on them," he said.
"We played very well without the ball today, and that was pleasing.
"I had a real pop at the players after the 5-1 defeat against Swansea, but they responded in the best way possible today."
