Dave Lubans, who led Oxford University to victory in the Varsity Match earlier this month, has joined Henley Hawks.
However, the versatile Australian forward, who can play in both the second and back row, is not available for their National League Division 1 trip to Pertemps Bees in Birmingham on Sunday (2pm).
He should feature in the Hawks' next home game against Bedford Blues.
Lubans joins fellow Dark Blues - No 8 Tom Hayman, lock Adam Harris and centre Ali James - at Henley, who will be seeking to build on Tuesday's tense 18-14 success over fellow strugglers London Welsh.
Hayman's availability, now that his commitments to the Dark Blues have eased, will compensate Hawks for the loss of Tu Tamarua.
The back row forward is leaving to join Rotherham who have offered him a full time contract, something Henley are unable to do.
Henley Hawks (v Pertemps Bees, away, Sunday, 2): from Johnstone (capt), Hopcroft, Grierson, Gibbons, Fuller, Green, Winterbottom, Park, Harris, Atkinson, Astbury, Holloway, Hayman, Davies, Laird, Obi, James, Tamati, Ejikeme, Osman, Honeyben, Reeves, Smaje, Bellinger, Van Zyl.
