Thame United boss Mark West has backed young striker Danny Keen to end his goal drought.

Keen, who has only just returned to finess after being out of action for more than a year with a cruciate knee ligament, last scored against Chesham in December 2003, the same game in which he was injured.

He came desperately close to breaking his duck during Tuesday night's 3-3 draw with Oxford City on Tuesday, with his header crashing back off the crossbar.

West, whose side host Southern League Division 1 West rivals Stourport Swifts tomorrow, said: "He's probably feeling a bit frustrated, but he's just got to keep going.

"If he keeps working as he has been doing, the goals will come. He's been out for over a year, so it's going to take time.

West was delighted with the draw against City.

"We kept going a goal behind, but the lads never gave up," he said.

"I thought John Mitchell, who scored one of our goals, was outstanding. But we also made some silly mistakes at the back."

Alex Stewart, who came on against City for his first appearance after being out for four months with a groin injury, plays for the reserves to build up his match fitness.

Player-manager Mike Ford is set to return for Brackley Town at Bromsgrove Rovers.

Banbury United look to follow up last week's Premier Division win at Tiverton when they travel to Cirencester Town.

However, Jason Burnham (hamstring) and Wayne Blossom (suspended) are out, while Les Robinson (leg) and Ollie Stanbridge (knee) are doubts.

Ian King has emigrated to Australia. Matty Gooderick and Sammy Ibrahim are added to the squad.

Abingdon Town could be without three key players for their Ryman League Division 2 trip to Kingsbury Town.

Striker Danny Morgan is out for the rest of the season with an ankle ligament injury, while Jason Thomas (knee) and Matty Whitehead (ankle) are also sidelined.
