Does anybody know why it will take four weeks to refurbish such a small section of road and pavements at Folly Bridge in Oxford (Oxford Mail, February 25)?

On the BBC's Ground Force programme, Tommy Walsh and Charlie Dimmock can create a new landscaped garden in two days. In the past, this has included paving, bricklaying and asphalting.

Are the right contractors doing this job? I know Rome wasn't built in a day, but four weeks for such a small job is a bit long, don't you agree?
