Thame rally to clinch win THAME A came from behind to beat Cowley Conservative Club B 4-3 and 428-380 on aggregate in the Atox Cup first round.

John Simpson (scr) gave CCC B a good start by beating Damian Keyte (+20) 75-63, 75-70.

Ken Oliver then lost to Thame's Paul Evans 49-75, 56-75.

And although CCC B's Brian Mabbutt (scr) halved his match with Mark Syrett (+20) 50-75, 75-70, Thame won on aggregate.

Ashton beat County A 4-3 and 394-343 on aggregate.

Peter Fenn (+20), of Ashton drew with James Thorpe (scr) 75-59, 66-75.

Keith Maskens lost to Jimmy Ewers 30-75, 73-75.

But Terry Chambers (scr) beat Roger Coenen (+20), 75-27, 75-32, making a 50 break in the first game to give Ashton victory on aggregate.

Cowley Conservative Club A beat Headington Conservative Club A 4-3 and 378-358 on aggregate.

Dick Hashman (scr) gave CCC A a flying start by beating Tony Palmer (+20) 75-26, 75-39, running out with a 66 in the first game and a 39 in the second.

Keith Pearce drew with Geoff Barrett 69-75, 75-68.

And although Arthur Coakley lost to John Williams 21-75, 63-75, CCA won on aggregate.
