What do you get if you cross Daft Punk with Basement Jaxx, combine it with the Chemical Brothers, throw in The Bays and The Prodigy, blend with The Scissor sisters and season with a pinch of Rage Against The Machine?
The answer is Devil's Gun -- a band featuring the talents of James Atkin -- former frontman of baseball-capped baggy-short-sporting Gloucestershire band EMF; percussionist Don Bastardo, resident at Manumission and Space in Ibiza, who will be using 14 different instruments on the night; and production duo Ollie and Jamie - the owners of Liquid ID Records.
And tomorrow this formidable mix of twisted electro and synth-rock take over the intimate surroundings of The Cellar, in Oxford, for a night of cutting-edge sounds.
The show, one of the Cellar's notoriously-hip Fresh Out The Box nights, will see the first ever-live performance by Devil's Gun, and will be the most important night to take part in the city centre for a very long time.
If you doubt the band's rhythm credentials, consider that in their former guise as Digital Fidget, they supported the Chemical Brothers, Scissors Sisters and The Basement Jaxx on tour.
These rising stars will be arriving with all new material, which has never been played live before. And the promise of a startling night of quality tunes and beats is getting some very cool people very excited. Such as Cellar manager Tim Hopkins, who was in no doubt where music lovers should be spending their Saturday night.
"This is a very rare opportunity to see one of the most exciting live dance music bands to emerge in the past four years," he enthused.
"It is a very special occasion, and a great chance to see a band, which will be playing stadium-sized gigs by the end of the year, in an intimate 150-person capacity venue."
For many people, it will be the presence of Atkin -- who, along with his Forest of Dean comrades provided two of the soundtracks to the early 90s indie-dance crossover with feel-good anthems You're Unbelievable and I Believe -- which will prove an irresistible draw.
Support on the night comes form Firstcontact, then, from 10.30pm to midnight, Devils Gun's tour DJ will be playing Electro.
The night starts at about 10pm and goes on until 2am. Entry is £4 all night.
If you've not been there for a while, you can find The Cellar by wandering a short way up Frewin Court, off Cornmarket Street.
