Sadly, your report, Police caused road blockage (Oxford Mail, March 3) is not an isolated instance.
Residents living near the police headquarters at Gosford Hill regularly complain about inconsiderate parking by police officers attending the headquarters.
Gosford Parish Council has regularly complained on behalf of residents, but the problem continues unabated.
You quote a police spokesman as saying their cars were not parked unlawfully.
I am sure no parking restrictions were breached, but it is interesting to speculate how the courts would respond to a prosecution alleging that inconsiderate on-street parking constituted failure to show consideration to other road users.
The police quite properly prosecute motorists for lack of consideration to other users.
It would be welcome if they were themselves to display a better example.
