A brother and sister who have not seen each other since 1953 have met in Witney for the first time in more than 50 years.
Constance Caveney, 74, has lived in Newcastle, Australia, since the family emigrated in the 1950s. Her brother Maurice Roper, 76, of Wadard's Meadow, Witney, had a career with the navy and stayed in England.
Maurice and Constance Although they speak regularly on the phone, when the pair met at the airport last week it was the first time they had seen each other since they were in their twenties.
Mr Roper said: "It's lovely to be able to sit next to each other and talk about things properly."
Mrs Caveney said: "It feels like we're getting to know each other for the first time."
