Women's matches: Oxford Hawks continued their good run of results in South Clubs' League Division 2 with a hard-fought 1-0 win away to Basingstoke.
It was a scrappy affair, with chances falling for both sides.
Hawks had a scare after 15 minutes, when a short corner strike was deflected goalwards, but Anna Sargent cleared superbly.
The visitors took the lead with half an hour gone after a well-worked free hit from the top of the area.
Henri Coles played the ball through to Wendy Gundry who, with her back to goal, skilfully deflected the ball into the corner of the goal.
The second half continued in the same vein as the first. Hawks had numerous short corners, but solid defending and good goalkeeping from Basingstoke kept them out.
It took the right-hand post to deny Hawks in the 55th minute.
A good move down the right resulted in Hannah Williamson hitting the upright with a first-time strike from Kathryn Spencer's cross.
The game finished with a barrage of short corners for Basingstoke, but Charlotte Monk kept her cool in the Hawks goal and cleared them well.
Lowly West Witney were beaten 2-1 by Staines in Division 2.
The Middlesex outfit went two up before Sandie Anderson pulled one back for Witney in the 69th minute.
Rover Oxford's Division 1 match away to Hounslow & Ealing on Saturday was postponed by the home side late on Friday evening due to double booking of their pitch.
The late cancellation will be reviewed by the league committee, with a view to awarding either a 3-0 win to Rover or to rearrange the fixture.
Hounslow & Ealing may also face further penalties by way of points deductions.
In the Trysports 3 Counties League, struggling City of Oxford went down 3-0 to Newbury in the Premier Division.
City of Oxford 2nd were hammered 7-1 at Wycombe Rye 2nd in Division 2, Kirsty Brammer getting their consolation.
Evelyn Hargraves, Jacqui Barlow and Cathy Flynn scored the goals for Oxford Hawks 2nd as they beat Milton Keynes 2nd 3-2 in Division 2.
Pilgrims' hopes of getting back to winning ways suffered a blow as in-form goalkeeper Alison Griffin suffered a serious ankle injury.
The team's good form has taken Pilgrims to second in Division 3, but they were beaten 4-1 away to Marlow 2nd.
