Rutherford did what others can only dream of, by beating the seemingly unbeatable Forum A.

Alf Davies, Neil Hurford and Glen Freeman each won two of their games and were just too consistent for the Division 1 leaders' younger players.

Hurford and Freeman teamed up to win the doubles and increased the winning margin to 7-3.

Karl Bushell achieved a maximum to salvage some pride, but could not prevent the first defeat of the season for the likely champions.

Forum were then held to a draw by Morris Motors A. This time, Nigel Taylor and Jeremie Thorez won two of their games and teamed up to take the doubles.

Bushell did not play in this match, but it was still an excellent result for Motors.

Earlier, however, Motors had lost 6-4 to Vikings B, and 7-3 to St James A.

A maximum for Mark Newns and a brace of wins for Frank Wetty sealed it for Vikings, and Andy Misseldine's maximum set the trend for St James.

Pete Dasher was the star for Vikings A as they beat Morris Motors B 6-4.

Bicester A's dominance of Division 2 continued with an 8-2 victory over Morris Motors C - their 14th successive win.

Another maximum for Tony Gorman maintained his 100 per cent record, while Pete Hargreaves assisted with a maximum.

Vikings C secured a draw against Begbroke A, despite a maximum from Janet Brown.

This was followed by a draw for Vikings against Gladiators, where Paul Borrowdale had to dig deep for the maximum that kept them in the match.

Vikings C rounded off a spendid series of results with an 8-2 win over their own D team.

Forum C's over Haddenham in Division 3 was their 14th successive win, andmakes them the first team to claim a title.

Begbroke B are the team most likely to take the runners up slot as they beat Forum D 6-4 and Bicester B 7-3.

Witney A kept up the pressure with an 8-2 win over Bicester B, thanks to a maximum by Neville West.

Witney B are favourites to win Division 4 after holding their main rivals Bicester C to a draw, thanks to another Terry Morris maximum.

Forum H beat St James B 6-4 to keep alive the contest for runners-up spot in Division 5. Glen Stiffle was the man of the match with a rare defeat of Bob Ford.
